How To Trust A Contractor In Your Home
Wednesday, September 25, 2019Research, Research, Research!
Researching a contractor creates the foundation for your project. It is important to know who will be entering in and out of your home and to ensure they will offer the best quality of work.
- Are they Certified, Licensed, or Insured?
Not all states require companies to be licensed, but it is important to research and check with your nearest building department. Having a company keep up on documents warrants that you are protected if an accident happens, the job wasn’t completed, and they are knowledgeable of the work being performed.
- What do their reviews say?
Online presence has become a game-changer. At the tip of your fingers, you can find a great deal of information about a company. Customers are willing to share their experiences, so make sure you read and see how other individual’s experiences were.
- What was your first impression?
From the first time, you contacted the company to have them arrive at your house, think about how they made you feel. Was there good communication? Did they walk you through the procedure of what they would need to do for the job? Was their personality friendly and relatable to yours? They will be entering your sanctuary, so if your first impression seems off keep continuing to look for a company that will be a better fit.
Ask yourself these three simple questions when searching for a contractor. I am sure you will find an appropriate company for your taste. Best of luck on your home improvements!
